DIY easy jewellery holders made of salt dough!
A beautiful and cheap way to store and display your jewellery that can work as room decoration as well !
These jewellery holders are made of salt dough . Salt dough is made of materials that can be easily found in your house . Here is a RECIPE for salt dough:
SALT DOUGH:
you are gonna need:
- 2 parts of flower
- 1 part of salt
- 1 part of water
FOR THE JEWELLERY HOLDERS:
open the salt dough with a rolling pin till it looks like a thick sheet. Be careful you don't want the dough to be too thick or too thin because it will crack. Then lay the dough over a small plate and give the dough the shape of the plate or the bowl that you chose.
Let the dough dry until it hardens or you can choose to bake it in low temperature for 10-15 minutes depends of your oven.
After the dough its completely dry you can choose to paint it in any colour you like. I painted them light blue, gold ,and white. You can also create decorations with different shapes like the white and gold holder.
You can pour in the salt dough mixture food colouring if you like, though the colours wont pop out that much. In my personal opinion the best way to give them colour its to paint them with plastic or acrylic paint because the colours are more intense. You can try colour them with watercolours though the result will not be the expected because salt dough is not exactly like clay, so it cant be painted the way clay can.

HAVE FUN CRAFTING!!
